Etsy's 2026 selling dates — each with the day your listings must already be live

Buyers start searching weeks before each holiday, and Etsy needs about two weeks to index a fresh listing. So every date below carries a second one — the list-by day. 43 dates for 2026; 15 of them carry most of the year's sales.

Imports into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook. Each event comes with a paired “list by today” reminder.

1.

Demand starts early

Valentine's searches climb from mid-January; Christmas browsing starts in October. The holiday itself is the finish line, not the start.

2.

Etsy indexes slowly

A fresh listing needs roughly two weeks to find its place in search. Publish late and the wave passes while you're invisible.

3.

So: the list-by date

Demand start minus the indexing runway. It's printed next to every event below — treat it as the real deadline.

The one deadline to tattoo somewhere

Every Christmas listing live by mid-October. Q4 is most of the Etsy year, holiday browsing begins in October, and listings published in late November fight for scraps.

Dashed chips are prep deadlines — the last day to publish so Etsy indexes the listing before that event's demand wave.

Demand-start estimates come from cross-checking major retail calendars (Shopify, Printful, DHL) against Etsy's seasonal search patterns; movable feasts computed for 2026.

Questions sellers ask

Frequently asked questions

What does “list by” mean?

It's the date your listing should already be live: when buyer searches for an occasion start climbing, Etsy needs roughly two weeks to index and rank a fresh listing. List-by = demand start minus that runway. Publish after it and you spend the demand window climbing search instead of selling.

Why are there two Mother's Days?

The UK and Ireland celebrate Mothering Sunday three weeks before Easter (15 March 2026), while the US, Canada and Australia celebrate the second Sunday of May (10 May 2026). If you sell to both markets, you get two separate demand waves — and need region-specific keywords for each.

When should Christmas listings go live?

By mid-October 2026 at the latest. Holiday browsing starts in October, peaks through November, and Etsy's search needs time to learn your listing before that. The single most expensive mistake on Etsy is publishing Christmas products in late November.

Are the shipping cutoff dates final?

Not yet — carriers publish exact Christmas deadlines each autumn. The dates shown are typical for recent years (US domestic around 18 December, international air around 9 December). We update the calendar once USPS and Royal Mail confirm.

Is the calendar free? Can I import it?

Yes — download the .ics file and import it into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. Every event comes with a paired “List by today” reminder so the prep deadline lands in your calendar, not just the holiday itself.
